Content Management System
Updating Your Content
Keep it fresh
When it is important to update the site content frequently, we suggest using a Content Management System (CMS).
A CMS allows you to remotely update certain information on your site without breaking the layout or design elements. Usually, a CMS works by providing you with certain "containers" in which you have control of the content. A plain text editor or one that is html-capable is usually provided for easier formatting. Most CMS programs provide a pain-free method for non-programmers to update a site's content.
A CMS can substantially reduce the need for a webmaster's intervention.
Some CMS programs require the installation of a database to run properly. We can install and test your CMS and provide support as needed.
It is usually best to install a CMS at the time the web site project is initiated as 'retro-fitting' may require extra work. Deciding whether or not you will require a CMS can save you time and money down the road.
Currently, we primarily suggest the use of WordPress as a Content Management System. WordPress began, and still is, a highly popular blogging software. With a bit of customization and further tweaking, WordPress becomes an easy-to-use content management system that can power your website with a set of full great features.
